On the Neha Dhupia’s talk show latest episode Rishi Kapoor is the guest and as expected the actor made some unapologetic comments on the young generation of Bollywood and on the two ‘Anurags’ of Bollywood. As Neha asked Rishi Kapoor to take up the Just A Minute game and his topic was ‘Anurag’.
Rishi spoke, “There is Kashyap who made Bombay Velvet. But he made a better film in Gangs of Wasseypur. I didn’t get the head and tale of Bombay Velvet. Then there is Anurag Basu who made Barfi and I am thankful to him for casting my son Ranbir in it. My son got great recognition because of the movie. But then he made this Gajja Jasoos..Jagga Jasoos. The film was as messy as my pronunciation. He probably just got too much indulged in the movie. Both the Anurags got too indulged in their movies. They are capable of making films on a certain budget but then when they are given huge budget it’s like bandar ke haath mei khilona ni aa jaata and he goes berserk over it. This is what happened with these guys. It happens with every director, every actor you can’t have a hundred percent record anyway…So it happens.”
When Neha mentioned the tweet the Kapoor and Sons actor send out when Vinod Khanna passed away. Earlier Rishi Kapoor had tweeted, “Shameful. Not ONE actor of this generation attended Vinod Khanna’s funeral. And that too he has worked with them. Must learn to respect. When I die, I must be prepared. None will shoulder me. Very very angry with today’s so-called stars.”
Rishi said, “We have always learnt that whether you go to someone’s wedding or not but you must visit them in their tough time. When Vinod Khanna passed away, there was hardly anyone from the film industry at his funeral. There is a respect for your senior and for someone who has made it possible for you to make an earning for yourself out of the acting business. He was the pillar of the industry. But no film director, producer, music director or actor turned up for his funeral.”
